Friprog teams up with Itera company Objectware

Friprog has chosen Objectware as a supplier of a "Web 2.0" project portal based on free software for the public sector.

The project will develop a web-based collaboration and document management system based on free software for use in the public sector. The system will be reused in the public sector, further developed and then adapted locally.

Will improve companies' efficiency
The goal is to improve public companies’ efficiency based on Web 2.0 functionality tied to the public sector’s daily work. The system will support OpenOffice, the ODF file format and other formats.

The system will be based on the Glassfish WebSpace Server portal product from Sun and will be in production autumn 2009.

Important cooperation
- We are happy to enter into such an important cooperation with Objectware. In the autumn will all public enterprises be able to adopt the system, says Heidi Arnesen Austlid, Director of Friprog.

- We are proud of being Friprog’s choice – it was a strong competition with several talented suppliers ‘fighting’ for the contract. The public sector is a strategically important area for us, and this solution will be one of several important initiatives in this sector, says Leif Ludvigsen, CEO in Objectware.
