OUR HISTORY

The history of the Itera Consulting Group – started by entrepreneurs - sets the scene for the group’s entrepreneurial character.



1999: Listed on Oslo Stock Exchange. In 1999 the Itera Consulting Group was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company has competence in business consulting within information technology.

 

The Itera Consulting Group gradually acquired complementary companies working with different kinds of e-based client interaction, notably market communication, sales business development, customer intelligence, and – later – consulting on corporate strategy and development. All companies were market and/or conceptual leaders within their niches, and spearheaded development and cutting edge knowledge.

 

2000: eBusiness Solution Provider. In 2000 the Itera Consulting Group was a collection of companies which together might have been described as a one-stop-shopping e-business solutions provider. However, management was deeply suspicious of grandiose and all-encompassing schemes, and experience from many places did not support the idea of “one-stop shopping”.

2001: The little big company. Recognizing the need for a customer driven business with customized solutions, the Itera Consulting Group instead strengthened its focus on keeping and fostering local entrepreneurship, which had been the basis for developing the spearhead competencies within each company.

 

In 2001 it re-branded itself as the “Little Big Company” to highlight this focus – a big company consisting of many small entrepreneurial companies.


2002: Realizing new Business Logic. In 2002 we increased joint cooperation on a spontaneous basis within the group, in the beginning with a focus on clients within the financial sector. This was done not through enforcing management schemes but by creating arenas in which the companies could meet and learn from each other, particularly based on concrete client situations.

 

Since 2001, the Itera Consulting Group has consciously been moving towards realizing new business logics for their clients. From 2002 an increased focus was set on helping clients see the benefits – and unfolding opportunities – of a service business logic.

 

2003: Driving Business Agility.

The Itera Consulting Group of today consists of a network of companies with their own spearhead competencies that continue to develop unique and client driven knowledge, separate yet always with the complementary competences of the group as a whole, to help clients win in the knowledge and information economy.

2006: Next Generation starts here
The Itera Consulting Group is today a strong cross-border network of our around 300 experts in Scandinavia who combine local understanding with group wide assets to address specific needs of our clients and deliver the best solutions.

All next generation solutions are characterized by a service-oriented architecture that maximizes reuse and enables rapid business change. Many clients are engaging the Itera Consulting Group as their strategic partner in transforming legacy systems into next generation solutions.
