KLP has a long track record as a major insurance provider, but has only in recent years begun to focus on insurance sales to the private market. The need to develop an effective sales channel placed serious demands on their resources: commercial understanding, experience of the insurance sector and technological know-how – a triple challenge! They chose Itera Consulting as a key partner for strategy, concept development, architecture, design and implementation.
The project’s implementation had a knock-on effect: KLP became acquainted with the flexible development methodology ‘Scrum’. Today KLP uses Scrum as implementation methodology for most of its new application development projects, and has so far certified over 30 ‘Scrum masters’ using our training program.
This project was the start of a close and strategic cooperation with KLP. Itera Consulting is now one of three preferred providers of application development services, and we have taken part in a range of business-critical projects. They include establishing new SOA platforms, delivering the quality assurance system for KLP Kapitalforvaltning, providing several project managers for business-critical projects, migrating e-mail and calender from Lotus Notes to Exchange, and running innovation workshops to identify future opportunities and solutions.
